Welcome to the late edition of our July newsletter!

This summer is building up to be a very exciting one! In July we saw the first in-person oikos International event since the beginning of the pandemic last year with the LEAP Mid-Term Meeting taking place partially onsite in Leysin, Switzerland. There are more to come as we look forward to the Curriculum Camp in August and at the same time the preparations for the oikos Conference will be in full swing, getting ready for an autumn of action!

Last month we had the honour to have an oikos chapter declared winner at the International Green Gown Awards, as oikos St. Gallen came on top in the Student Engagement category. An exciting development awaits in the upcoming months, as we're getting ready for the oikos Co-Presidency. We also share a new part of the NexGenLead interview series and some tips from our chapter for a sustainable summer.

LEAP Mid-term Meeting 2021: onsite again!

Following over a year of absence of in-person events in the oikos International calendar, this month we were finally in a position to organize an onsite meetup for part of our community! As some countries started to ease travel restrictions over the last months, our LEAP team put in a lot of hard work to make the LEAP Mid-term Meeting possible not just online – but also onsite.

oikos St. Gallen wins International Green Gown Awards

The oikos St. Gallen chapter was declared a winner of the 2021 International Green Gown Awards final in the Student Engagement category at the UN High Level Political Forum in July! This is a great honor for our community, following up on the oikos Graz involvement on a project gaining recognition as highly commended in the same Student Engagement Category at the last year's awards.

Extraordinary oikos Legislative Meeting in August

An extraordinary oikos Legislative Meeting will take place on 15 August where chapter representatives and attendees will gather to discuss the oikos Co-Presidency and elect the first oikos Co-President who will take on their term later this year.

Rethink2React: oikos Conference is coming in October

The oikos Conference 2021 informs, envisions solutions, and invites everyone to take action. On the basis of these reference points, the conference offers a broad program for everyone. Thanks to the cooperation between oikos St. Gallen and oikos International, people from all over the world can take part in this year’s edition, replacing the Spring Meeting.

Get ready for oikos Curriculum Camp!

oikos International is hosting the first ever oikos Curriculum Camp! The event will be in person in Sestriere, Italy from August 23 to 28th. Curriculum Camp is a week-long gathering for teams working on projects related to sustainability in economics and management education.

In this second NexGenLead interview of the series, rounding up a block on the topic of Self-awareness, Clémentine Robert, former president of oikos International, talks about the importance of recognizing emotions and their meaning, on the journey of becoming a better Responsible Leader.

Now that students are heading into our final days of exams, oikos St. Gallen wants to share with you just a few tips and tricks on how you can lead a more sustainable lifestyle for boosting exam performance and ending this semester with a bang!
