Welcome to the September edition of our newsletter!

As the summer is coming to an end, we're already planning for the next year, with the the new Board members application in progress and the first ever Co-President elected last month and starting in November. We're also in the midst of the Support a Youth Leadership Journey campaign as we take on the new structural changes made over the past months. In this period, our oikos Family grew too, as we welcome the first oikos chapter in Nigeria.

This month we also take a look at the LEAP Mid-Term Meeting, the first oikos International in-person event since the beginning of the pandemic and the important step in adapting to the new circumstances. There are also some opportunities for you like joining our team, or taking part in projects like the Sustainable Finance Career Map and the Positive Impact Rating. And finally, oikos Bangalore explores a sustainable alternative material native to their country and its potential.

oikos Updates

First ever oikos Co-President Elected!

At the extra-oridnary Legislative Meeting mid-August, the oikos community gathered to elect the first ever oikos International Co-President. The two candidates presented themselves with an interesting discussion, followed by the vote of the chapter representatives who elected Darija Miletić of oikos Belgrade as the Co-President to take term in November this year.

Support a Youth Leadership Journey campaign

We kicked-off a fundraising campaign - Support a Youth Leadership Journey, for the first time ever through the Global Giving Accelerator. It is a simple way for the friends of our network to make a contribution as we keep on making our impact with new structural changes in place.

New Chapter: oikos Kano

We are delighted to announce that the milestone 50th new chapter joins our oikos family in Kano, becoming the first oikos chapter in Nigeria.

Leading From the Future as It Emerges – LEAP Meeting 2021

This year's LEAP Mid Term Meeting was a really special one and a true testament of just what our LEAP team is capable of. Through both online and onsite meetings, participants had gone through a challenging, yet rewarding program with many precious memories and learnings to take away from it.
