oikos International November Newsletter

Welcome to the November edition of our newsletter!

We have quite an eventful month behind us, but there's even more going on in the oikos Community in the upcoming period.

Over the last month, the NexGenLead program has taken the center stage. The event has ended, but it's still not over - there are learning opportunities with its resources at your disposal. We also announce the winners of this year's Case Writing Competition, along with the new oikos chapter opening. November has also seen a historic moment for oikos as we take the last steps of going fully remote.

There are Chapter Days ahead bringing together oikees from around the world, followed by the Legislative Meeting where chapters will elect the new oikos International Board Members. As always we are also happy to share with you exciting opportunities from our partners network.

oikees assemble: Chapter Days Fall 2020

oikos Chapter Days is where we come together as an oikos Community for an opportunity to exchange and learn from each other. Throughout the two days of sessions you’ll get to get to know oikos International a little better and connect with members from different chapters, but also strenghten bonds with other chapters, discuss project and create potential collaborations.

Legislative Meeting:  electing the new oikos International Board

Open to all oikos members, the second Legislative Meeting of 2020 is taking place online on November 29. All oikos chapters will be represented, with the full chapters “elligible to vote on the election of the new oikos International Board members, among other things.

Case Writing Competition 2020 Winners announced

We're delighted to announce the winners to the oikos Case Writing Competition 2020! Their high quality cases are a great addition to the oikos Case Collection and include innovative teaching notes aimed at professors and students to use on programs in sustainability, management, entrepreneurship and finance.

A new oikos chapter opens in Alexandria, Egypt

The opening of a new oikos chapter is always exciting news! What makes Alexandria even more special is that it's the first ever oikos chapter in Egypt.

oikos is growing into a fully remote organization

Over the past months, the virtual world has become an ever-more tangible reality for many who shifted to remote work, whether they wanted or not. At oikos International, we started with shifting our work to the clouds back in 2016 - with the whole management team working remotely since the beginning of 2019. The sole exception: the president. Now, we are taking a leap to remove this exception...

NexGenLead: Get inspired by stories of Responsible Leaders

Did you know the entire library of NexGenLead interviews featuring inspiring and insightful stories of many Responsible Leaders are now available for everyone to watch and learn from? The interviews were conducted by participants and feature various prominent figures from different walks of life sharing both their professional and personal stories.

Curriculum Change Workshop by oikos & Rethinking Economics India

The workshop aims at embedding sustainability as part of the curriculum in Economics. We will discuss the various modalities through which the issues related to sustainable development can become an intrinsic part of our university education and will layout the tools and skills required to address challenges associated with it.

The Day of the Climate Professional

The Day of the Climate Professional on November 24 is an annual summit which aims to accelerate careers in the climate, creating bridges between professionals and young people with organizations working in the area, publicizing work, training and networking opportunities in the area.
