Welcome to the July edition of our newsletter!

We are excited to introduce the latest edition of our newsletter in a new and refreshed format! We have created a new smart design which makes it easy to navigate through and allows for additional features to keep you up to date with all things oikos!

With oikos In (your) Residence and Carbon Literacy Training under way, this month we also look ahead for the next semester and the upcoming oikos events amid the pandemic. Reimagining management education: Positive Impact Rating at the PRME Global Forum

The Positive Impact Rating (PIR) was featured across several sessions at the Virtual PRME Global Forum. PIR contributed to the broader discussion about ways in which universities can reimagine their sustainable impact through management education, placing students in the centre of the discussion.

How does the oikos Event Calendar look for the remainder of the year?

With the health and safety of our community as a priority amid uncertainty and unpredictability of the global pandemic, the oikos event calendar has undergone some changes and adjustments for the second half of 2020. Some of the biggest oikos events like FutureLab and LEAP Kick-off meeting have been rescheduled for the spring of 2021 and others shifted to an online format.

We're delighted to present the new center for everything you need as an oikos Alumnus/a! The new Alumni Hub will help you connect better with others from the oikos Community and the Alumni network as well as provide you with all the information you need to stay a part of the oikos journey after your graduation.

Taking a step towards low-carbon economy - join the PRME Global Carbon Literacy Training!

Our partners The Carbon Literacy Project and the PRME Working Group on Climate Change and Environment have teamed up to bring you a global Carbon Literacy Training! The sessions are taking place every Monday this July and will equip you with the skills and information to allow you to a step towards low-carbon economy.

oikos in (your) Residence under way

We kicked off oikos In (your) Residence with the first session on July 9. We've had quite engaging sessions so far with participants from around the globe working together with a shared vision of transforming the curriculum towards sustainable a world of tomorrow. You can still sign up and join us for the remaining individual sessions!

Mask, Bag, Collect Trash. - initiative by oikos Paderborn

Do it today, do it tomorrow, do it for a long or a short time, again and again if you like. Get a trash bag and gardening gloves, put your mask on and hit up your friends to do the same. This is how we’re cleaning up the earth bit by bit. Collect plastic, paper and other non-biodegradable trash, like cigarette butts. And the best part is: You’re not alone!

Take part in the World’s biggest student survey on sustainability by SOS International!

The goal of the survey is to get the biggest ever sample size of student opinions and attitudes towards sustainability to create an engaging report that can lever action to transform education and direct society to a more sustainable and fair future.
